What are your Sunday morning worship services like?
Our Sunday morning worship service begins at 10:30 in the sanctuary. The dress is casual and varied so come as you are. Worship is a time of fellowship, celebration and learning. Our worship service centers around a clear, practical, and relevant message from God's Word presented by Danny Wendt, our Pastor. Brother Danny’s down-to-earth and straight forward style of preaching allows him to share the life-changing message of the Bible in a way we can understand and apply to our daily life. For information about what Baptist believe, please visit the Southern Baptist Convention’s web page at the following link http://www.sbc.net/bfm/bfm2000.asp.
As you enter the sanctuary, one or two persons will greet you and offer you a bulletin that outlines what will be happening during the service. Inside the bulletin, there is a
questionnaire for our guests. If you feel comfortable, we ask that you fill out the information and hand it in during the offertory.
In a typical service, the instrumentalists will be playing before the service begins while the folks find their seats and chit-chat. As the choir enters, those people in the congregation not yet seated will make their way to their seats and our Associate Pastor, John Travis Smith, will go to the front of the stage to welcome everyone and make any announcements that may be necessary. After the welcome and announcements, John Talley, our Music Director will lead everyone in one or two songs. We try to keep the style of music balanced between traditional music (older, more familiar songs) and praise music contemporary style music written in the past 10 years). The words will be on the overhead, and, the hymnals will be in the pocket of the seat directly in front of you. Throughout the service, you are welcome to join in or sit back and observe - however you feel most comfortable. Pastor Danny Wendt will then come to the front of the stage to welcome everyone and lead them in prayer. After the prayer, you’ll have the opportunity to sing more songs, listen to the choir perform and hear one or more of our church members perform a message in song. Before Brother Danny begins his sermon, an offering will be taken. As the plate comes by you, please put the perforated section of the bulletin in the plate. After the sermon, there will be a call to commitment; an opportunity for those who wish to accept Jesus as their Savior to come forward. This is also the time for anyone who wishes to learn how they can join our church to come forward. However, if you have a burden that you would like to share, we invite you to join Brother Danny up front or pray at the steps of the stage for guidance. After the call to commitment, Brother Danny will close us in prayer.
What are your Sunday night services like?
Evening services are even more laid back than the morning service. Rather than a sermon, Brother Danny prepares a bible lesson. Topics for past lessons have included the nature of the Holy Spirit, a study of the spirit world and a study on the Book of Revelations. The typical order of service has congregation singing followed by prayer and the lesson.
